Recycling and bulk material technologies for more sustainability

The responsible and economic use of resources is becoming more important than ever as raw materials become scarcer and environmental pollution increases. The return of recyclable raw materials to the economic cycle is increasingly becoming a focus of attention in everyday corporate life. At the SOLIDS & Recycling-Technik trade fairs in Dortmund on 1 and 2 April 2020, trade visitors can obtain comprehensive information about practical solutions, trends and possibilities of digitisation for more efficiency and sustainability.

Industry and research have long been concerned with enabling economic growth while preserving resources. In this context, it is becoming increasingly important for companies to rethink proven processes and make them sustainable. They are faced with the challenges of using raw materials more efficiently, introducing them smoothly and without losses into the process chain, minimizing waste volumes and making greater use of recycling processes. Processes such as screening, mixing, separating or comminution are just as important for the initial processing of raw materials as they are for their final recycling. Developments in digitisation already offer helpful solutions for the efficient design of processes. Thus, it is becoming an indispensable duty of those responsible to inform themselves about the current possibilities and trends for the future, to exchange experiences and to position their companies in a sustainable economic way. Industrial trade fairs such as SOLIDS and Recycling Technology offer an ideal platform for this.

On 1 and 2 April 2020, experts in bulk materials technology and recycling will present themselves at the Dortmund Trade Fair Centre. The combination of the SOLIDS Dortmund trade fair with recycling technology offers numerous synergies for both exhibitors and visitors, as many of the bulk materials technologies are also to be found in the recycling sector. Experts will be presenting both practical solutions and future trends on a total of five presentation stages. Numerous partners of the trade fairs will also be present, such as the German Association for Waste Management (DGAW e.V.) with information on the implementation of the new Commercial Waste Ordinance, Vero e.V. on the recycling of building materials, IAB Weimar with construction cycle and bulk material simulation, and the Technical University of East Westphalia Lippe on the subject of life science technologies.

For the first time in 2020, University Professor Dr. Ing. Uli Barth from the Bergische Universität Wuppertal will participate with a contribution on occupational safety and explosion protection, as well as Haus der Technik e.V. and Digital in NRW. "Thanks to the close cooperation with our competence partners, we can pick up on the current topics of both sectors and show our visitors current and future solutions", Birgit Meinberg, responsible for partner acquisition and the lecture programme, describes the successful concept of the organiser Easyfairs. Guided Tours will also have new focal points. The measurement of material flow and resource and energy efficiency are just two examples of current trends that will be covered. Visitors will find numerous opportunities to exchange ideas with specialists on the most important topics of the industries and to find sustainable solutions for your companies.
