From tradition to innovation - 30 years of HAAS
 
HAAS started in 1989 with stationary machines for sawmills/wood industry. Since the end of the 90s, HAAS has also been producing and delivering machines and plants for waste shredding and sorting.
Today HAAS is a globally recognized specialist in the recycling industry for tailor-made solutions.
The flagship, the double shaft slow speed shredder "HAAS TYRON" and the hammermill "ARTHOS" - which has been available as a mobile version for the first time since 2018 - are particularly appreciated.

IEG: focus on plastic at Ecomondo 2019
 
It is one of today’s largest environmental challenges: reducing pollution due to plastic, the manufacture of which, according to some sources, could manage to exceed a billion tons per year by 2050. The 23rd edition of Ecomondo, the large European appointment with the circular economy, organized by Italian Exhibition Group from 5th to 8th November 2019 at Rimini Expo Centre, this year again dedicates an extensive program of meetings to the issue of plastic. The event’s proceedings will be based on the European Strategy that in recent months led to approval of the directive that prohibits the sale of products in disposable plastic.

Can the global plastic waste export market be revived?
 
With the introduction of plastic import bans across South East Asia, the global export market has slowed hugely over the last 12 months, leaving exporting countries with a predicament. Besides export markets shrinking significantly, it has moreover led to plastic waste piling up or being brought to landfill. New legislation being introduced by governments and policymakers could help revive the exporting market through recycled content laws.

Between 5 and 7 September 2019, the recycling and civil engineering sector will come together at Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre. In 80,000-plus square metres of open-air exhibition area, more than 220 exhibitors will be showcasing their latest machinery and equipment in all areas associated with recycling valuable materials and the entire range of civil engineering machines, particularly those used in road and path construction and canalisation. The products on offer are supplemented by a wide range of add-on equipment, accessories and services such as leasing, maintenance and software.

URT – combined SDA and Fridge Recycling Plant
 
In July 2019 URT Umwelt- und Recyclingtechnik started up a new combined SDA and fridge recycling line for their client EcoTechProm in Russia. The plant enables a throughput of 3 tons of fridges per hour or 10 tons of SDA and IT per hour. The fridge line recovers and liquifies all blowing agents and refrigerants. There is a pre dismantling line for impurities like toner cartridges, batteries and capacitors in front of the SDA line. By shredding and sorting, high fraction purities are achieved.
