Four awards for Wienerberger: In the Architects’ Darling Award 2020, the manufacturer of clay construction materials has won gold in the “Open Space” category with its Penter clay pavers. Silver was presented for the Wienerberger’s Terca facing bricks in the Facades category. In the jury awards, too, the company took gold for the best reference project “Haus am Buddenturm” in Münster as well as silver for the best product innovation for the building shell with the climate-neutral brick.The winners are chosen on the basis of a survey conducted by Heinze’s market research among 100 000 architects and planners. The awards for the overarching marketing categories are decided by a high-calibre jury.

| Vierfache Auszeichnung für Wienerberger: Beim Architects‘ Darling Award 2020 gewinnt der Hersteller für Tonbaustoffe mit den Penter-Pflasterklinkern Gold in der Kategorie Freifläche. Silber gab es für die Terca-Vormauerziegel in der Kategorie Fassade. Auch bei den Jury-Awards holt das Unternehmen Gold für das beste Referenzobjekt Haus am Buddenturm Münster sowie Silber für die beste Produktinnovation – Rohbau mit dem Klimaneutralen Ziegel. Die Sieger werden auf Grundlage einer von der Heinze Marktforschung unter nahezu 100.000 Architekten und Planern durchgeführten, unabhängigen Befragung gekürt. Die Prämierung der übergreifenden Marketingkategorien erfolgt durch eine hochkarätig besetzte Jury.

For assessment of the sound insulation of construction elements built with vertically perforated bricks, mainly measurement-based investigations are conducted in the field. These investigations are time- and cost-intensive. Especially the development of new configurations necessitates actual production of vertically perforated bricks. In contrast, numerical simulations can be applied in an early stage of development, that is even before the production of prototypes, as a powerful tool in research and development.

| Für die Beurteilung der Schalldämmung von Bauteilen aus Hochlochziegeln werden in der Praxis überwiegend messtechnische Untersuchungen eingesetzt. Diese Untersuchungen führen zu einem hohen Zeit- als auch Kostenaufwand. Insbesondere bei der Entwicklung neuer Geometrien ist eine Herstellung dieser Hochlochziegel erforderlich. Dagegen können numerische Simulationen bereits im frühen Entwicklungsprozess, noch vor der Herstellung von Prototypen, als leistungsfähiges Werkzeug im Bereich der Forschung und Entwicklung eingesetzt werden.

The submission period for Brick Award 22 takes place til April 8, 2021 online. Submitters can be architects, international architecture critics and journalists. The 50 nominated projects will be revealed starting fall 2021. The winners will be communicated at the Brick Award ceremony in late spring 2022.
Participants are asked to fill out an online template comprising of basic project data, a short informative text describing the project, as well as uploading pictures and plans of the building. By submitting, participants consent to the submission and having this published at a later stage.

| Der internationale Brick Award zeichnet erneut herausragende und moderne Ziegelarchitektur aus. Architekten, Architekturkritiker und Journalisten können ihre Projekte bis zum 8. April 2021 einreichen. Die Projekte müssen 2018 oder später fertiggestellt worden sein und zu einem wesentlichen Teil aus Tonbaustoffen bestehen. Eine unabhängige Fachjury nominiert 50 Projekte für eine Shortlist. Eine internationale Jury renommierter Architekten wählt anschließend die Gewinner. Der Wettbewerb ist mit einem Preisgeld von insgesamt 27.000 Euro dotiert.
